By the way, does anyone know what RETRO/SPACENEW is? I've got $26 positive balance because I changed from NOIR to RETRO and can't figure out what to get. I'm thinking about a blue space bar, but the normal SPACE/BLUE is sold out.

Seriously, is this ever going to happen? Can someone please post an update without misleading inside jokes that we don't understand? It's my second ever group buy whith money sent many months ago - I am yet to see a single keycap

7bit needs another one who fucking collects US moniez!
PP locks accounts down if too much gets in, that's why the amount is splitted into several accounts.
Unless we don't find someone, this will take forever! And by forever I literally mean forever...

Hell, as long as the IRS isn't knock at my door, I don't mind collecting. The sketchiness about things is the fact that many of us only joined GH/DT for this group buy, including myself. It's a shame that Signature Plastics can't set up an account (Paypal or otherwise) to facilitate this or other group buys. It would only help them in the long run, cutting out the middleman (assuming no one is trying to turn a profit) getting payment for product that much quicker. For a 60k GB such as this one, one would think that they would try to get the funds from the consumer as quick as possible. Ah well. By this time next year, we should all have some awesome doubleshot keycaps.

Yes, I have been collecting money. I just wired Signature Plastics $10,025.00 USD to start production on the keycaps. I have collected almost all that I will be able to collect.

I can not collect the full amount. Someone else must take over collecting money or this group buy will also stop.

It's a piece of cake. Anyone with a Paypal account and a spreadsheet program like Excel can do it.

If you want these awesome keycaps (and they are awesome!) and you live in the U.S. then volunteer your services to 7bit. There's nothing to it. People pay your Paypal account for their keycaps, you withdraw the money from time to time into your bank account (keep good records, of course). When you have, say $10,000.00 USD then you wire it to Melissa. It's really as simple as that. There should be so many volunteers that 7bit has to turn them away. I'm doing it because I want my Retro/Sym/RGBY keycaps!

I wanted one too so I ended up getting the standard kit since it comes with the alpha keys.

At which point are you going to consider that maybe you're in two scams?

I mean: it's more than one year since I paid for the Unicomp mini group buy and now I'm beginning to consider that it's maybe the first scam that got me...

(I know 7-bit successfully ran big group buys in the past but sadly it obviously didn't help for the Unicomp one)

This GB may have been a little too ambitious and probably should have been split into multiple GB's. There is also the possibility of tax implications when dealing with such large sums of money.

@megnin, 7bit: I have a problem with new invoice. It appears in my invoice that I have to pay $1xx for the following set:
SPH/SPACE |6.25 units Filco/Cherry/Leopold | 2.00| 2| 2| 4.00

But actually I have paid for the Tenkeyless set and a spacebar one day before. So the due amount should be $8x instead of $1xx. Please help me to check it. Thanks.

They may not have updated/ reported to 7bit that you have paid yet and it won't show until they do.

If you paid one day before then I can tell you with certainty that your invoice has not been updated because I send updates in only once a week, usually on Saturday or Sunday when payments are coming in slowly like they are now. When larger payments were coming in faster I would send them in twice a week. I was planning to send this group in tomorrow, but since you have a concern and I also have a refund to make I'll try to send this weeks payments in later today.

No, the refund is for someone else. Not a problem. Just be aware that I send the payment updates to a "bot" via email. The bot does its magic somewhere transparent to me. To get a new invoice send a dummy order. That will trigger the bot to send you an updated invoice.

When I send in the payments for the past week I will post them here in this thread as I have been doing for a while. I post them here as soon as I send the update. If the payment list isn't here, it hasn't been updated yet. I'll try to post this weeks update by this evening.

edit: Oh, when I do, I'll also post the same list on GH for those in the GB to hang out only over there.

Ok, so I am going to get barked at for not reading the thread and generally being a n00b . . .

I am very confused as to how this works. Are the custom orders made in advance, or not? I tried to order SPH/TKL and SPH/SPACE, but only one went through I assume because one was 'sold out' -- and now SPH/TKL has 2 available?

If SPH/TKL is available, I'd like a set (and the spacebar as well, of course).

Sorry for my general dumba**ery. Sixty-seven pages is daunting to read through.

If you send:

SPH/TKL 1

It will overwrite your previous order for that item, not add another of that item. You can send that how many times you want, you will not accidentally order several. All other items are unaffected and will remain with the number you have ordered.

Looks good. Note that "EMAIL" before your email is optional and I think the caps lock and enter keys on the SPH are slightly shorter than normal so there will be a slight gap on each side. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
