I think I will only do one suggestion a month here.
My suggestion is to combine both the Geekhack and DeskThority wikis into one big MegaKeyboardWiki so that ALL keyboard lovers have ONE place to find the TRUTH!
And World Peace.
Always World Peace.

Nah, I get banned here ALL the time.
I'm thinking of fulltime trolling like Woody/Ekaros. This content stuff is HARD!

Suggestion : creating a "your latest acquisitions" thread. Didn't do it myself yet because I feel like it's not in DT's customs, and maybe it would feel like some kind of duplicate with the photos & videos forum. However, I feel that would help on several purposes :
- People could have a place to brag and discuss about their latest buys
- Contains the flood risk by having one topic for it and not random threads created
- Helps people finding a price quote by seeing how much people spent for a specific item (if they wish to disclose it) or have someone to contact in case the information is not given
-- edit --
The best thing would be to have a database so that people could enter this info and get stats out of it. Would need development though.

Trolling apart, having this set up as a database providing stats could be a real plus. Anybody being proposed a deal could easily check if the price seems decent or not for example. Now that would be difficult to have this integrated into a forum I suppose.

actually I thought about such a topic recently too.
Not having a database in mind [I'm way to less nerdy for that], but more in a sense of a great finds/ whats this/ look what I found -kind of way. Just to keep the forum in general a little cleaner from those likely/mostly not thread worthy items.

Seeing the rising number of threads in the marketplace, I would now strongly support that.hoggy wrote:May I suggest that we create a temporary subforum in the market place for USA based classifieds?
AND a special subforum for those (in my eyes silly) skull keycaps threads.

Could the "view new posts"-link on top of the page be split into three links?
1. view new posts (as it is today)
2. new posts w/o marketplace
3. new posts only marketplace
Link text could look like this: "View new posts (w/o marketplace / only marketplace)"

I have a suggestion, but I don't know if it already has been suggested by someone else.
I'd really like to be able to filter the threads in a subforum (especially in the marketplace) by their tags.
So for example that only "Mass Order" threads are displayed at the marketplace.
That would greatly improve the usability for me.

Sounds like a good feature, although unfortunately I can make no promises when I or xbb have time to look into it.

I would like to see the thread tags for merchandise threads in search results, such as New posts. Otherwise, I can't tell whether someone is buying or selling without visiting the thread. There have been too many threads that I have visited when I have been interested in buying, and it was a WANTED thread.

I suggested this before
-make links open in new tab
It's so nerve wracking if you are writing a post, view the preview and accidentally click on a link without Ctrl pressed

As 002 said, mouse wheel click opens every link in a new tab. AFAIK every modern browser supports it.
