back in the day, i liked cloth mousepads for optical mice... But since i moved on to laser, it feels strange and they get dirty easily... Now i just use the surface of my wooden desk. Might give a try to hard mouse mats though.

A self cut piece of full-grain heavy-weight belt leather, organically tanned, uncrusted, uncoloured cow skin. 40x25cm.
4mm thick, very nice to the skin, summer as winter, but you'll have to like the look of the leather becoming used -"noooO it's not dirty "

Boogie Big XL.
Really like having the keyboard and mouse on the same surface, used my desk for a while, but I found it would rub on my wrist/forearm unless I wore something long sleeved

I got a Filco keyboard now, but haven't taken a picture since and too lazy to make a new one right now.

A slightly creepy one. My girlfriend's grandma got a photo of me and my gf made into a mouse mat. I use it because she freaks out whenever people come around the flat.

Just to add to this..
^^ The above desk mat is marketed as being water proof.. and well until yesterday they could have been lying..
They weren't..
Spilt a whole glass of water over it.. (managed to get my poker out of the way in time, my powermate too..)
where it didnt run to other parts of my desk, it just sat there and beaded/pooled. went and got a sponge and just wiped that bad boy down.
done

I have a SteelSeries Qck+ with DotA 2 graphics. Had a regular-sized Qck before it, which was nice, but this teh bestest.

I have tried a lot of mousepads. I mean a LOT. Ultimately settled on the Artisan Hayate. I love it but I am not sure whether to recommend it as a mousepad unless you have tried out quite a few pads. It is indeed the best I have used but I feel that it is only marginally better (not worth the premium unless you really love your mousepad like you love your keyboard) and in order to really respect how nice it is you need to have tried out a lot of other pads.

My first mousepad was Fatal1ty pad.
Then some Qpad, I still use a Steelseries MYM 5c.
And now I'm on a old Qpad CT
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
But I'm not really into mousepads anymore since I don't play a lot.

Currently using a C4 NGEN04 Giant. Love the copper textured finish on this mat but after a few months of use the texture is gone and scratches start to show.

no mouse for me but still a Kensington 6240 model gel wave mousepad.
EDIT (you're perfectly right Icarium) : Before I bought my trackball, I noticed that the surface is great but too small. Since I got it, I think the gel wave wrist rest is too low and too hard and makes me some pain after a couple of hours.

This thread needs more pictures and opinions. I doubt that the intention of the op was to create a comprehensive list of mousepads currently in use by keyboard enthusiasts worldwide. :p
