Here is the order the way I like the switches, red is my favorite.
Blue and Green were way too noisy for me...
Cherry MX Red (from Mr. Interface)
Cherry MX Brown
Cherry MX Ghetto Reds (Blacks with the spring of Browns/Blues)
Cherry MX Black
Cherry MX Ergo Clears (Clears with the spring of Browns/Blues)
Cherry MX Clear
Cherry MX Blue
Cherry MX Green (from Ascaii)
Thanks to CeeSA and Mr. Interface who made this possible.

I love how reds and ghetto reds aren't next to each other, they ARE the same switch.Gascogne wrote:Here is the order the way I like the switches, red is my favorite.

First off I would like to thank CeeSa for creating this group trial and accepting me into it. It certainly was a long wait from when I put my name forward and being accepted to actually getting the switches in my hand, but it definitely was worth it.
My top eight of switches are now as follows:
1. Clear - nice noticeable activation followed by a strong resistance (this will be my next switch choice for a keyboard)
2. Green - more noticeable activation than blue, then stronger spring before bottoming out, which I like.
3. Blue - nice activation noise, and as expected as this is the switch I have on my Noppoo.
4. Ergo Clears - nice activation, but too weak a resistance afterwards.
5. Brown - if anything, this trial allowed me to find out that it was a good choice I chose Blue for my Noppoo, as other than tactile feeling (which is only reason it is at the bottom), the spring is too weak for my taste.
6. Black - strong, but no activation feeling (hence why it is linear).
7. Red - weak.
8. Ghetto Reds - weak.
I don't know if this makes much sense to others, and it's probably stating the obvious, I just thought I would put it down to give you guys some feedback from a novice at these things.
As an aside, the boards are very well put together, which is a good thing as they have travelled a fair bit of Europe, and next the rest of the world. Shame the final box will not be like an old suitcase, covered in stamps from around the world.

Maybe somebody could make some pics of the box and the PCB?

So the package is on its way to Arnianor. I will send him an e-mail with the tracking number.
I liked the linear switches very much (Red,Black and Gettho reds)
Thx. So now I know which switches will suite me most.
greets,
Lex

Ok first try of the switches: the corresponcance list must have been lost, so I'll do it again, print it and send it with the package. There's a problem with 1 brown switch, the w, which is completly linear (the 3 others are ok).
So my preferences are, after a first try, in order:
I'll still try them tomorrow but i don't think my mind will change alot about it, maybe I'll have a better idea of the brown by then.
So my preferences are, after a first try, in order:
- Ghetto Red
- Red
- Blue (though a little bit noisy)
- Brown (I hesitated between blue and brown, but brown seems too much "in between", not beeing a true tactil nor a true linear)
- Ergo Clear
- Green (in this position because I think it might be great on a space or enter key, which is its job, but would be horrible for other keys)
- Black (too hard)
- Clear (too hard, and dislike it's tactile feedback)
I'll still try them tomorrow but i don't think my mind will change alot about it, maybe I'll have a better idea of the brown by then.

I'm considering buying my first mechanical keyboard (Filco Tenkeyless), but I'm not quiet sure which switches to go for. May I be added to the list? I'm located in Germany.
Thanks in advance, this is a great idea!

Received them just a few days ago!
Just PMing/emailing t4ub3 now to send it on
PCB's received 07/12/2012
In terms of reviewing, the only thing that stood out to me was how ergo clears wasn't the be all and end all of Cherry switches. Contrary to popular belief, the increased tactility wasn't that great (for me). Sort of felt cheaply done, not tight and sharp.
Reds are just nice, if you don't mind lots of bottoming out, browns are just nice because they are just nice. Blues are too noisy but have the nicest tactility.
