bavman wrote: First off, a thank you to jdcarpe to helping me getting this GB rolling, and, of course, to bpiphany for letting us use his Phantom design to run this round 2 GB. I think this is a really cool project for people to build their own custom boards at a reasonable price.
Intro
The Phantom PCB is a custom tenkeyless board designed by bpiphany (formally PrinsValium) to be used with the teensy 2 programmable usb controller and a mounting plate.
Main features:
• 1.5x and 1.25x modifiers
• Center stemmed and off-center caps lock
• 7x Cherry spacebars
• ISO and ANSI layouts
• 5 extra keys above the arrow key cluster
• Costar and Cherry stabilizers
• 6KRO over USB
• In-switch LED at caps/scroll lock and Filco style LEDs
• Switch top removal without desoldering
• LED brightness control
• Firmware source code can be used to remap keys
We will be keeping the PCB black with white LEDs like the original GB
What's included
1 – Phantom PCB
100 – Diodes
2 – LEDs
2 – Resistors for LEDs
What you'll need
Cherry MX switches
A Teensy 2.0 controller with header pins: http://www.pjrc.com/store/teensy_pins.html
Stabilizers (Costar or Cherry)
Mounting plate
----Tools----
Soldering iron
Solder
Wire cutter (or if you’re cheap like me nail clippers)
Desoldering tool/braid (unless you never plan to desolder anything and won’t make any mistakes)
A DMM(or an old school multimeter) is useful to test for continuity, even super cheap ones will work fine
Pricing
Everything in the “What’s included” section above will cost $35 per board.
Shipping
I’ve calculated shipping based on estimated weights of various parts. Shipping boxes are 6 ounces, boards 5 ounces, diodes/leds/resistors are negligible, and 1 ounce extra for packing paper. Price below are calculated from costs from USPS (added $2 to each price to account for cost of packaging materials like boxes, paper, tape, etc).
Domestic (US only)
1 board - $8
2-4 boards - $10
5-8 boards - $12
International
1 board - $12
2 boards - $15
Unfortunately, international shipping is quite a bit more especially once several boards are involved since price hikes happen at 4 ounce intervals as opposed to domestic which increases prices at every pound. For larger orders, PM me and we will figure out the best/cheapest way to ship.
If it is the case that we have a large amount of international orders, it might be beneficiary to find an EU distributer, but for now just take the prices I have posted as the maximum you’d have to pay.

I recall that the_beast wanted to make a mixed plate group buy, so I am pretty sure that a PHISO plate should be possible... at some time

Yes, there will almost certainly be a concurrent plate group buy from The_Beast. If you need the plate drawing files, they are in a zip file on page 7 of the Phantom group buy thread.

How much will it cost to get an entire Phantom-based keyboard together with reds on wasd, shift, ctrl, and alt and blues on the other keys?
And is it possible to install leds beneath the keys?
(I'm new to mechanical keyboards and this sounded so incredibly interesting..Besides, it'd be nice to have reds on keys i'm going to hold and blues on keys i'll have to press quickly)
