I got this thinking it would have linear switches but they are the clicky variant - bonus! (but I can't use it at work now )
Nice board overall - my only gripe is that the Enter key is terrible to use unless you hit it very close to the switch. Never heard of MMG either, so if anyone has any info on them, that'd be cool.

I was watching an NMB keyboard recently and it went for about $130 dollars. They are not cheap.

And yes you're right - they do go for decent amounts. Most of the boards on eBay are junk or the rubber dome version so finding one in this condition was lucky.

I am pretty sure that rzwv from the Japanese thread has an NMB RT101 with the three different switch types (Brown, Pink and Yellow?). We might be able to get some pictures from him for the wiki. I'll upload some pictures of the black switches to wiki this weekend.

They're pretty difficult to photograph; I'm a bit of a noob with my camera. How are you supposed to take pictures of black items?

Taking pictures of dark objects is hard — I can't do it at the moment with the light available.

You did a really good job there — some great photos. And the YouTube video is the icing on the cake — I've used that for a reference for how the clicker works.

I've added another colour, blue, as your shade of blue definitely seems significantly darker than this pastel version: http://imgur.com/a/NG0UT#5 (although I can't prove it, looking at the exposure etc it does seem that they changed the colour, and they've changed pretty much everything else repeatedly)

Do your lock keys also use black switches, or are they some other colour? (like with the neon pink ones on beige boards)

I thought I read somewhere that NMB bought up Hi-Tek Corporation, but the best I've been able to find this time around is that (at some stage) it was a Minebea subsidiary the same as NMB. In which case, the switches aren't NMB, they're plain Hi-Tek switches. I did write to NMB, no response yet. I'll try again in a week or so. The article now credits them to Hi-Tek Corporation until we get some clearer information. I think Hi-Tek are long since gone.

Yeah the blue ones on the image you just linked are more of a pastel semi-translucent blue. Mine was very deep, opaque blue. No other colours on the rest of the board. Black switches throughout. The only differences I could see between the black ones were the eyes and embossed vs debossed 'HI-TEK' logo.

Any idea what makes them tactile?

Will have a look this afternoon but I think it's simply the resistance the trailing arm encounters as it moves over the ramp.
Edit: Confirmed. I suppose you could probably even mod them to linears by removing the arm too. Not sure how that'd be done and not exactly keen on de-soldering a switch to find out.

See, there are tactile, non-clicky ones (beige and grey IIRC). Apparently they're a lot more tactile than Cherry MX browns.

And they look, to me, the same as the linear ones.

(Neon green has also been found for spacebars on both tactile and linear boards — I presume it swings both ways, rather than linear boards having tactile spacebars …)
