I still have to find out if both switches could be mounted on the same plate.pasph wrote:There's a chance for alps Hyper's pcb & plates?
But in any way, there will be ALPS versions available!

One reason why I stopped designing the Hyper stuff was to see if we can get ALPS switches. I hope it is possible to put both on the same PCB. I will look into this once I've got some time.dirge wrote:Matias referenced an alps spreadsheet in the geekhack thread I think that details the pin positions.
Will the hyper have mounts for alps switches? (we'd need plates of course)

BTW: I own an AZERTY keyboard (but no double shots) with key caps that are ALPS compatible!

You own too many azerty keyboards, you know, it's quite strange.7bit wrote:Just order the adapters when they are available!Gilgam wrote:i'll have to find some vintage alps azerty keycaps by now ...

I have a T3100 in azerty and a T5200 in qwerty. A combination of those two give me a nearly full dolch-themed alps compatible DS azerty board (what a sentence!).

I can get my hands on another T5200 directly in azerty if you want. But I can't tell from the picture if it's BE or FR azerty.

I can always proxy for you if you want. But shipping will not be cheap, it's a super heavy machine. Or you can look for one dans la France! Other old Toshiba laptops have ALPS compatible keycaps as well
Those NeXT keyboards were also nice, but though to find.

I can always ship only the caps to you of course, but the whole thing has to be shipped to me first :p anyways, good luck with the hunt! I'm sure you'll find something ^^
Oeh Gilgam, our lovely friend KennyR has found some DS azerty alps-compatible caps!
In case you're interested (or probably already read about it in the Marketplace):

So, this is it. The first time I participate in one of your crazy groupbuys 7bit. I ordered 120 of each. Want to find out if these are nicer than these simplified white ALPS on the only "ergonomic" keyboard I own. I really wanted to try it, as I seem to like the layout, but I just can't stand typing on these switches.
