I want a green 1.25 units Return (or 1 unit would be OK) and a red Escape!!!
Maybe I should collect extras requests and put them into a kit. Then you ask for a price for 25 and we can all decide if we want it or not.
Maybe also some blanks would do right.
The big advantage here is that keys are independant of row.

Please add to that list a Caps Lock replacement key that says "Control."7bit wrote: Maybe I should collect extras requests and put them into a kit. Then you ask for a price for 25 and we can all decide if we want it or not.
That's a 1.25 width key I think.

I stand corrected. Green would be nice, to match the green Return, but I'm not picky.7bit wrote:1.75 units.tjweir wrote:Please add to that list a Caps Lock replacement key that says "Control."7bit wrote: Maybe I should collect extras requests and put them into a kit. The EXTRAS kit might include:
1u red ESC (I don't know about this because a red esc is actually already present in the elegance kit)
1u green ESC
standard return in green
1.25 green return
1.75 control key (actually this could come standard in the brown mods)
1u Deskthority (if I get a permission)
1u GeekHack (if I get a permission)

What's your current idea about keys with a nipple/tactile bump/whatever you call that?
Needed:
F and J (QWERTY)
U and H (Dvorak)
T and N (Colemak)

I asked for that many times but nobody replied to the call. I also posted to colemak.com and got no response. Colemak would be definitely possible, dvorak is more complicated.Kurrk wrote:What's your current idea about keys with a nipple/tactile bump/whatever you call that?

except for F and J that will be deep dish OR nippled. Anyway, I'm planning an "extras kit", the colemak keys could end up there.Kurrk wrote:So, now all keys will be flat?

for each homing letter we need the non-homing counterpart. So for 5 homing letters we actually need 10 keys.RC-1140 wrote:If you do a deep dish N for colemak in the Extra package, could you as well do a deep dish E?. N and E are all I need to have Neo!
now that I think of it... what about a homing UP arrow for 75% or compact layouts? On my Race sometimes I miss the arrow keys, maybe a homing key would help...

I'm against a GeekHack key. What would it be good for?matt3o wrote:...1u GeekHack (if I get a permission)
I recommend to put F and J as deep-dish and standard into the standard kit and the rest of deep-shishes into the Extra kit.Kurrk wrote:What's your current idea about keys with a nipple/tactile bump/whatever you call that?

It is more classic than a nipple.matt3o wrote:do we all agree on deep dish instead of nippled? I have no idea how DSA deep dish feels like
Usually it is deep dish for F and J, and nipple on 5. But I've seen keyboards with all 3 deep dish....

That is why organizing a Group Buy is the single most complicated, excruciatingly difficult thing to do. You are trying to please all the people, that in itself is the PERFECT Catch-22 in which you can never win.matt3o wrote:it's impossible to make everyone happy

I actually don't care if there will be dishes or nipples as long as there is some tactile feature on the index finger caps.matt3o wrote:do we all agree on deep dish instead of nippled? I have no idea how DSA deep dish feels like

Updated kits:
KIT 1 TKL, unchanged (not showing)
KIT 2 Numpad, now includes 3 extra keys (does it seem legit?)
KIT 3 Mods, now includes caps lock replacement
KIT 4 C64, now closer to "classic" C64 colors (ABS color to be determined but it will be slightly warmer than the original)
KIT 5 Plum, changed to meet the updated Mods kit
KIT 6 HELLA LOTTA RANDOM KEYS WTF I DON'T KNOW!
- I removed 16 plum ergodox keys. That would be too much.
- Added the homing letters for dvorak and colemak
- Added 4.5 spacebar
- 7u spacebar moved here
- Added some relegendables (asked by the guy who will be proxing this from the US, can't say no )
- Added Unbranded win keys
- Added some lime keys
This kit is definitely not final and still very experimental in the current incarnation.
NOW:
1) Does the 7u spacebar look good in the extra or should I place it back to the Mods?
2) 1.25 return? really? Is this gonna be used somewhere? Is it for Hypermicro? We could do a Kit7bit hypermicro with all the keys.
3) does the DSA 6u spacebar make sense? Do you know if it has standard stems at least?

Just an opinion.
If I buying this for my Ergodox, I will be pissed to paid the extra money for additional keys that I not gonna use like DCS Spacebar, unbranded win keys, Lime keys.
The TKL + Ergodox (2X and 1.5X )are enough to cover.
Can you separate out the Ergodox (16 keys total) as a separate kit?

I understand your point and can relate to it, but think of this: the guy who wants -say- the unbranded win keys doesn't care about Ergodox but is helping you reducing the price of the whole kit. The price difference from 25 and 50 pieces is huge and if we can really meet the 50 tier you may very likely end up handing less money OR anyway we all gathered together to have everyone spending a little less. Karma credit, palmikelanding wrote:Just an opinion.

I'm liking this, definitely karma in here.
I'd buy several of the kits, and probably only need two caps from kit 6, but don't mind getting extra caps to help out. For the greater good!
