So it's basically a SpaceSaver with an Apple layout.
The photography is really bad. The lighting is poor, there is quite a yellow cast and the harsh flash makes it look really ugly. It looks like a yellowed piece of beige junk from the mid-90s(i.e. something that doesn't really fit in front of an iMac). I'm sure it looks much better in person. I mean, jpc over at Geekhack has a really nice shot of an Endurapro that does it a lot of justice.
The above image makes the Endurapro look amazing. It would look quite fitting in front of an Apple product.
Vs
Yellow 90's keyboard that no one would even think of putting in front of a post-1999 Apple product.

I wonder if they have any idea of the sales they're missing out on by not offering a tenkeyless.

I don't think they have the capital to make new tooling for a tenkeyless. A SpaceSaver M isn't that hard to tool - change a few electronics and make some new dye transfer sheets to print the keycaps. A real tenkeyless would mean that you need a number of new molds.

They DID have to change the label. Unfortunately they amazingly found a way to make it uglier.

Lose the keypad and about an inch of bezel at the top and bottom and I'd consider buying one.keyboardlover wrote:I wonder if they have any idea of the sales they're missing out on by not offering a tenkeyless.

I like the black one better. They ditched the shiny grey and kept the off-white. Looks like my Filco w/cherry doubleshots, colour-wise. I've no doubt the photo is badly done, that's never accurate.
Pity the 'design' of the Fn-row is a bit unsightly. Since when does sound travel into a speaker to make it quieter? Aside from that, I'd still have one. They're decent keyboards.

Last night I had three hours of sleep. Once upon a time I had an experience whereby I experienced hallucinations due to sleep deprivation. At this point in time, this is the most plausible explanation for what I'm seeing here.

I like how it is everything Apple does not stand for. It's the anti-Apple.

In any case it is the only keyboard with Apple layout and buckling springs. You can see from the lines forming in front of the shops there is a great demand for such a thing.

I think I've reached the Anger stage of the Kübler-Ross grief model. My two psychiatrists and my hair stylist tell me that this is an inevitable step on the path to accepting the mortality of a loved one.
It may be time for me to buy five Filcos and turn into Ripster.

I don't have that Majestouch Linear R Unlimited Edition. You must be some kind of fanatic!

I'm now at the depression stage. Clearly Unicomp will never make a buckling spring M4-1, and there's no point trying. I've already gone past the bargaining stage where I rang up Chuck at 1AM asking if they could at very least make an industrial grey version of the Spacesaver M. That didn't go down well.

This photo has got to be a delayed April Fools joke. You see, I'm not particularly picky when it comes to looks, but that is some of the worst product presentation I've seen. At least get the darn white balance right if nothing else.Pylon wrote:
Looks like this was shot with a Canon S3 IS under artificial light - not exactly the right kind of camera for product shots, being a small-sensor superzoom. Fullsize view readily exposes the chromatic aberration and sensor noise, with the lighting not helping matters.
And yes, the LED label does look even uglier than the regular one.

Majestouch was the first to special order Tenkeyless Blues so it came in brown box.
Blue MX is not popular in Japan. Probably the Rice Paper Walls you see in those Samurai movies.
Note that the Generic Brown Filco box STILL had Filco lettering in Silver.
You see the ranking of Design Sense goes like this....
(hows this stupid list HTML supposed to work?)
1. Japanese
2. Koreans
3. Drunk Germans
4. Sober Germans
5. Americans
6. Taiwanese
99. Chinese
Meanwhile in Korea.....

In Japan they know better than that. These are wise people. Also ripster can't handle a blank keyboard. I bet he bought a backup.
