We're currently closing the office, where I work. There came up this "Sun SSK" keyboard:
The key feel is quite awful - like poking a mattress, but the SSK layout looks interesting.
What do you think? Should I give it some care and post more pictures or is it trash/not interesting?

Yes, please don't kill it of just yet. We would like to hear more about the "Sun SSK"
The layout looks kinda "interesting" so maybe if you give it some TLC and use it for a bit it'll turn out to be a okay board after all

Yes, do save that "Compact 1"! Myself i got the full-size variety just because it looked so good (and I thought old Sun was cool...)
Are the letters also actually a dark purple, and not black is it looks in the pictures?
Please do also save the mouse, and the mouse pad if it is optical. The optical mouse does not work without it.

Ok then - I'll clean it and report back.
- it has a slight rubbery bump, so my description of the feel isn't completely accurate, but it came from the fact that the bottoming-out feel is very soft and spongy
- the legends could be a very very dark purple or blue, but maybe just black
- the mouse isn't optical - it has the classic rubber ball

Hi... For Beam spring fans, I want them to have a look here, on subito. It, an italian classifieds website https://m.subito.it/informatica/ibm-sys ... 08112.htm .
There is an IBM beamspring with all the hardware behind at a reasonable price.
Take care.

Not a terrible deal for a fixer upper F122. If you are ready for a project I could provide some of the missing parts. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3685571072

I guess it isn't really a good deal by any stretch, fair enough. But it also isn't terrible.

I love these steampunk projects, that is one of the most interesting ones I've seen, although I don't actually like the design itself and it certainly isn't as clean as Datamancer's work.

I have no idea what this one is. Maybe an 80's terminal keyboard?

Not sure if mechanical or not,but it does look rather interesting, and it's pretty cheap if I didn't have an AEK II in the mail I'd be all over this just for the way it looks

Key Tronic Foam-and-foil. The interesting bit would be the built-in trackball.
