- Location: Croatia
Hii,
I am interested have anyone heard any thing about this specific keyboard:
Cherry MY-3100 (G81-3100SBU)?
Becouse i cant find any record about it,how many were produced, how rare are they, why they arent on the list of G81 series,is there any on the planet that we know, and many more?
I will be very happy if any one out there knows or knows some one who knows some thing.
Thanks for youre time!

There is no way to know about this, Cherry is, and was pretty big, so I doubt there is any kind of number I can give youhow many were produced
Actually pretty rare it seemshow rare are they
the list of G81s on the wiki isn't very much a list, but it's more a certain number of exemples, for an actual list, you can refer to this document here : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... kUafsFmb2Uwhy they arent on the list of G81 series
Well, I don't keep up much with such specific keyboards, but there are a lot of very similar keyboards, yes.is there any on the planet that we know, and many more?

Makoohr, thanks for the pictures. As I thought, they're standard A-profile ANSI dyesubs.
As I explained to you in PM : Yes, the G81-3100SBU has never been seen before, but there is no difference between a G81-3100SBU and a G81-3100SDU or G81-3100SAU that would be of interest to any collector. The difference in the middle letter on 3100 boards signifies differences in the card reader or additions like a heavy duty cable. See below :
No collector today cares about differences like these. Realistically, most collectors only care about the keyset and some collectors (like myself) would value the whole NIB keyboard as a piece of history. However, nobody would pick and choose between a G81-3100SBU and a G81-3100SDU. They're the same visually, which is all that matters when it comes to G81s since the switches are so bad.
To illustrate what I mean further.. Do either of these look any different to yours? Because they have different middle letters. Actually, one of them isn't even a 3100; it's a 3116. But not even I would be able to tell you that from looking at it.
I hope this explains things fully. Great job finding them too.

Also, I should clarify since I saw your post in another thread about the middle letter corresponding to switch type: that only applies for Cherry G80 keyboards with MX switches. Yours is a G81 with MY switches, which were only offered in one type during each era of manufacture. On G81s that middle letter doesn't have a certain pattern; it means different things in different G81 series. Like I said, for the G81-31XX series it usually corresponds to variance in card readers or extras like thicker cables. We don't know what the "B" on yours signifies but, while I'd be curious to find out what it means, it's safe to say that it holds no bearing on market value which is what you seem to be interested in finding out.

Actually, I probably should've looked at your photos more carefully. It's pretty clear what the B means.
Look at your card reader. It's shorter than the ones I've posted. As I showed above, it was common for Cherry to use the middle letter to distinguish between card reader types on the G81-3100 series, so the B probably signifies that specific card reader type.
I don't know of anyone who cares about serial numbers. Maybe there's somebody out there who'd pay more for unlucky 0000013 though.

The B is described in the manual in the boxes, the SAV find helped find what, in exemple, T means. So I have no doubts the manual in these will help know what B means.

I purchased all three of Marko's SBUs on the 31st of May. Since then, I haven't heard back from him once. Throughout the whole buying process he tried his best to make me pay with Skrill, which has no chargebacks.
I've just learned that he's been trying to sell more SBUs to other people, and has successfully sold at least one board. He's told the other buyer that he doesn't have money to ship his keyboard. Seems like a clear trend of overselling and lack of response.
Please, don't buy anything off this guy. If you've already bought something: get ready to do a chargeback if you don't hear anything from him soon.

I didn't think to update the topic because you disappeared completely from the forum, after ignoring my last messages to you in 2019.
I of course received a refund via Paypal, since I had buyer protection, and you didn't ship what I had paid for. I didn't lose any money here, I only wanted to warn people of what you were doing: selling more than you had, and not shipping what had been paid for.
Also, sorry, but it's not truthful of you to say that you "backed out" of the sale. You never told me such a thing, you just ignored me.

Yes I will send dont worry about that, i will pay the best delivery option for extra safe of the package. Last time i drop out from selling didnt want to send, everyone get their money back. I have returned money and no one is left empty hands, paypal and photeqa got their balance back as it was before this , this time i'm willing to lose money on ebay fee and tax so no one will feel like they are loosing. I dont want to make money and feel good if someone is feeling bad and loosing money. Im sorry for my past actions and photeqa know that, he is helping me and i have only best to say for him, he is a really good man.
