I have a Dell A101W keyboard with a couple of keys, specifically the backspace and right shift key, that work intermittently. Switches are black Alps. I have a another A101W that I disassembled and cleaned previously, so I'm reasonably familiar with an Alps switch. Just asking for some ideas of what to look for to fix this. Thank you!

- Main keyboard: Cherry G80-1800 & Models F & M
- Main mouse: Mouse Keys, Trackpoint, Trackball
- Favorite switch: IBM Buckling Springs+Beamspring, Alps Plate Spring
Okay, here are a few things to consider:
* When you say intermittently, is it completely random or fixable by e.g. unplugging the keyboard, leaving it for a bit, and then plugging it in again?
* Do they always work if you e.g. press hard?
* What if you short the corresponding switch pins on the backside of the PCB? Does that only work intermittently as well?
The purpose of the questions is to (begin to) figure out if it's a mechanical or electric malfunction
