I think a spam bot finally hacked our most secure of security questions, and we need another riddle to replace the "IBM" one.

No hack, step one is remove the spammer + his topic, that left T!NG's post who replied to the spammer, after which the topic was removed. So if you can, don't reply to spammers, it just means more work for the mods to clean things up.

That way nobody would be able to enter.....7bit wrote:Maybe it should be a more complicated question, like:
What is the order-code for a purple 7 units spherical space bar in never ending round 4?

Word on the GH IRC channel is that the firewall is not letting people through.

I've never once gone on the GH or DT IRC channels. GH has been down for many hours, how could they not have opened up the firewall in that amount of time? They're probably afraid of opening it up too much and letting R00TW0RM in again... That, or they found out how to prevent R00TW0RM from ever hacking them again - by blocking everybody! Yay!

But seriously, I'm afraid understanding the text won't be very easy for people whose mother tongue is not written with Latin characters, and even more difficult if it doesn't use letters at all.
And I think a lot of people will in fact write the answer as it is given here: Belu
Besides, I guess quite a lot of people just won't know the correct answer nor even guess a colour is meant.
Wouldn't it be possible to implement a solution where one has to enter characters shown as a (always different) graphic?

Yeah, reCaptcha is what we used before the security question, it wasn't good enough. I briefly re-used it yesterday, but that didn't stop it either. I think I now got it by simply renaming the security question input field, in order to beat the automatic form submissions aimed at phpbb software.
