Layout
The Ampex 220 uses a DEC LK201 style keyboard.
Keycaps
The Ampex 220 keyboard uses PBT keycaps for the Hi-Tek 725 series keyboard with dye sub lettering. Some examples have been found with hand carved sub legends that are later infilled.[Citation needed]
The Cherry version of this keyboard uses ABS double shot keycaps.
