So? If he went through the work of rummaging through the mud and found some gems, I say Good for him! I'll just feel some degree of healthy envy from a distance.

No, you should sell it at a price that everyone think is fair and try to help the people that wouldn't buy a SSK because they don't have the money for one. I'm saying that since he found A LOT of them, he could sell them at half the price and still make a reasonable margin.

Considering how high a price some SSK units are sold for on eBay, I think 150 USD is quite fair. Heck, if I didn't have two already (one converted to ISO, to boot), I'd be in line right now to get at least one.

I thought people knew damn well that eBay didn't represent the keyboard market.

Maybe I'm just too cheap of a person to make fair prices, I wouldn't spend 150usd on an SSK. I don't know about others, but I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Which is easier, selling one or two at a time on ebay, or raking in the cash on geekhack. Considering they won't have to pay ebay fees and they are charging 25$ for shipping, I'd say they are making out like bandits. As far as him saying he doesn't want resellers, well, I don't see any room for profit. We all know dirty auctioned SSK's could go for $150 on ebay. The buy it now prices are the $225 - 250 with free shipping and probably already bolt modded.

Ebay has become the de facto world marketplace for non-unique commodity items, especially when trading between individuals.

Specialized or niche marketplaces may have significant advantages, but ebay is the standard by which they are all measured.

that's why there is loads of keyboards that have been sitting there or been destroyed because their listing were overpriced ?

I know there is some nice deals on eBay and that they are not rare, but it's also not rare that you see Model Ms for 100usd because they are "VERY RARE VINTAGE IBM KEYBOARD" where they would sell for less than 40usd if they were on another site like DT, GH or even /r/mm.

Unfortunately yes. Although I love when I'm able to circumnavigate GREED_bay's own rules like just now. Saw a KB of my liking, PM'd the seller who obviously did not know what he's got and made him a fair offer which he took. F**K GREED_bay.

Yeah shipping is usually a killer for me. But this time got it shipped for $20 in Singapore, used a forwarder which I have a coupon for that was to expire in a day or two. So for $170, my dream came true.

Not much old boards being sold here. So usually they are all from US or Europe.

I know what you mean but in terms of interesting keyboards you might want to have a look in the japanese yahoo auctions now and then.
