I remember having to hunt down that page once before after discovering that the regular 'My eBay' >> 'Purchase history' page does not list the feedback option in the drop-down for cancelled transactions.

Unfortunately the system won't allow me to leave feedback for at least 7 days, so no instant karma I guess. :-/
I am in the same situation, I bought a replacement part for a retro game system a few days ago, and the seller just up and cancelled my order today. No warning, no message, nothing. I went to leave him negative feedback as well, but I have to wait. Damn ebay and their bullshit rules.

I just had the same thing happen about a week ago. The feedback page said I'd have to wait a week, but I typed it in and clicked "leave feedback" and it went through anyway. This was the day after my order was cancelled. Abuse of the ebay system is definitely on the rise, for whatever reason.

It normally seems like buyers have the most power judging from the negative experiences of sellers being scammed or unfairly receiving negative feedback from a buyer. I guess it works both ways, shitty sellers or dishonest buyers cause plenty of headaches. In my experience these issues are the exception and not the norm. Of course eBay wins either way.

I offered quite a bit more after the relist and haven't heard back. Maybe it was an honest mistake. The market value for that terminal board is way more than 75 shipped lol.

It looks like it was exposed to heat so slightly toasted?

I also seen two water damaged beamers (3277 and 3741) sell for something like $50 a piece not too long ago...

Aye, that was a sad morning. I sat pressing 'buy it now' and receiving 'seller does not ship to Canada' for a few minutes, trying to find a way to lock it in and get a proxy later, but it was a failed strategy, and soon the Dreamspring* was lost.

While I was reading reviews for proxy services I forethought that I had better hurry in case the seller posts something else, when, lo!, seller did post something else--and I missed that, too.

Now I have a proxy address all ready and waiting.

I think that people do not give sellers enough credit. Being a seller on eBay is, quite frankly, shitty due to the insane amount of awful buyers. Plus after seller fees and shipping you are looking at getting only 75% of what the item actually sold for.

By the way, speaking of fees, I have a great example of how shitty eBay is. If you sell an item that goes 100% to charity, eBay still charges you selling fees! You'd think that eBay would not charge for charity, but no of course not.

Did you offer more in an attempt to steal the board away from whoever bought it at $750 or to just see if the seller had made a listing error the first time?

I wanted to see if he made an error with the listing price or if the second buyer stole it away from the first buyer by sending a message and offering more.

Ahh gotcha. Yeah this one definitely seems like a case of putting in the wrong number. Still, it sucks for ekeppel =( Would you have purchased it at $750, @ekeppel?

That's actually a different one - the labels on the back are different. I wonder how many acers this guy has. Those prices are very high for the condition they are in >_<

Yeah, after cancelling my order and sending me a message quite a while later about how he 'intended $750 instead of $75'. I'm so tired of people being able to weasel out of things on eBay with no consequences. I can't even leave feedback about it because cancelled orders don't allow it. :!:
It's less about Ebays rules than your domestic law. In Germany, all Ebay offers are legally binding and even people who took off auctions got sued by the highest bidder for compensation and lost. If you really pulled the trigger on that one, Polizei would hunt the seller down and take the item from him, throw 75 Trumps at him and spit in his mouth.

Just wanted to add that this is not entirely true for this case. §119 I BGB gives the seller the opportunity to cancel his offer if there is a mistake.
The thing mentioned by wodan is about canceled auctions. If you put up an auction and somebody bids on it and you stop the auction without reason you can sue the seller and you will always win.

Matias can't even deliver his so-called 60% keyboard that he has been working on for the last three years  .

Good luck if you think he might roll into the Blue Alps switch craze, during this century. Then again he might pass it all on for his Gran-kiddies to do ;) .

But just for keyboards? That's not cool. Let's non't seperate complete systems.

Nobody said anything about separating the complete systems. I've got the space for them, but he probably wants more money than I could afford to spend. They'd make great display pieces.

Well if you'd be willing to pay however much to acquire all of that I'd assume you'd also be willing to pay for shipping too.

I don't separate systems unless I have a good reason for doing so. No, I would keep all of these together. There's probably no boards worth separating out anyways.
