NCR H0150-STD1-10-17

Got this the other day. The Label on the back reads NCR H0150-STD1-10-17. The Cherry sticker on the PCB reads G80-0624 and 47/85. Unfortunately the case and caps are very yellowed, even more than the pictures convey. Not much else to say really, these MX blacks from 85 are super smooth like those on my Cherry G80-0499. The spacebar is a MX Linear Grey. This keyboard came with the NCR Decision Mate V computer, or at least with one revision of that machine.

Thanks photekq. It was worth it just for the 85 blacks. It could use some serious retrobrighting though. I really should get into that this summer.

Great! Seems a bit earlier than My NCR-0528 made in 1985.
I guess the switches on NCR-0624 might have mould No.1~20, super smooth early MX.

Yes HzFaq true. Due to extremely (good) weather conditions I have been trying out kbdfr's "wipe-on" retrobright method with pretty decent results, I'm posting these pictures because this NCR Cherry was soooo very yellowed that even in the pictures it's striking which is often not the case.

It works quite well, not sure if the creme oxydant or the oxy vanish can "harm" keycap printing. I believe it did on my Apple M0110, it did not on these Cherry doubleshots. I will eventually try the other bathing method with UV light.

Digging this post up from the dead because I am wondering how seebart went about converting the NCR board. I have a very similar one, G80-0577, but it is ansi layout with all the stepped keys.

I tried a DIN to ps2 converter and it didn't work. I'm not really sure where I should go from here.

A cable adapter will not work since this keyboard "speaks" the XT keyboard protocol that was introduced by IBM for their IBM Personal Computer model XT. We do have a prominent community project that solves this problem, you can find all the details here:

Sure, don't thank me too quickly though, as you can see it involves quite a bit of work. Just make sure the keyboard is worth the effort to you before you start spending time & money.

Heh, yeah I've know about soarer's converter for a while, but haven't had the chance to really dive into it. Will a pro-micro controller work? I've got a couple of those lying around. My board is in great condition too, caps and switches are basically NiB!

How much for one of those Model Fs with intact keycaps? . I have seen people tear those down and restore them before, but it just seems incomprehensible to me. I'm not electronically literate.

You don’t have to be. Just unscrew everything, clean it, put it back together the way you found it and find the right adapter. There are some great tutorials on YouTube. The great thing about model fs is no matter how bad they are, you can get them looking beautiful again so long as the case isn’t busted.

G83 keyboards are virtually worthless, being rubberdome and not MX compatible.
As for the case itself, there's no way the lower shell could be modded to accommodate G80 innards,
and I'm not sure the upper shell (which would require quite heavy modding anyway) would fit the lower shell of a G80:

The SAU model you linked does have sublime dye sub caps, at least. Though painfully incompatible with real key switches! Oh Cherry, why put such great caps on shite?

Anyway, I suspect the G83s in question here are not so lucky in the caps department.
