Looks like Sanwa arcade buttons have something else and not just microswitches. What can be?

Sorry, miss click. Can be the strange thing with the ball inside? I don't remember the name of the switch.

The upside: Acer’s alps mount caps can be quite nice PBT. But those look like deeply worn legends, especially the E key, so may well be just as shite as the board.

I don't know that Acer ever used PBT keycaps Oo .

Mine sure feels like PBT to me:

Reminds me: I’ve long meant to put them to better use than that 2kro thoroughly meh, crunchy rather than clicky board. They’re not the best caps, but they have a really distinctive “pumice” quality to their texture. Real dry to the touch.

Ah the OLD version of the 6312 T. I have one of those as well, including the pine switches (most people don't know pine Acers exist

). Uses the old font found on the KB-101A as well. Try it, they dissolve in acetone

.

Texture isn't a very good indication of material, I've found. The sink test also sucks balls xD . Even with acetone you sometimes need to rub pretty well before they start to dissolve xD .

Testing with solvents is more bother than I'm up for. But I won't fight your keyboard science! If those keys are ABS, I wish more of the cursed stuff felt as good as that!

Yes, unfortunately the buttons are kind of useless since they don't bottom the switch fully out. Good donors for repairing MA boards though.

I've had this old Bulgarian keyboard since quite some time and I knew it has read switches but I've never looked at them closely. Now I notice it's a cherry switch. Is it read, how rare?

Those are M9, not uncommon, but usually found in typewriter. Do you have any pics of the full board? I've never seen M9 in a computer keyboard.

Its from early 80's Bulgarian computer that predates IBM. Switches are kinda nice though way smoother than MX.

(The IBM PC came out in 1981. Maybe much later in Eastern Europe, if at all.)

Hi, i might be new but has been lurking mostly from google result. Back in September, i won a yahoo auction for a Reudo Rboard Pro, i was sure it was Alps SKCL Yellow but i was wrong (it's hard to google result in japanese and find a 1998 result in japanese). It seem to be fujitsu leaf spring but not a third gen linear switch. The board's indeed made by fujitsu but the picture from the wiki don't match. The software utility for the macintosh system 7 or 8 (since it's adb for connector) seem to come on floppy with a copyright of 1999 (WTF, floppy and adb in 1999 seem weird due to the imac not having floppy not adb but usb instead). I have yet to put the floppy on my mac LC II from my father. I have a feeling i have found a fourth gen Fujitsu Leaf Spring Linear. It feel very smooth but i am not any chyros22 with experience. The layout's utter shit and need to be highly remapped with my drakware adb2usb adapter. Lastly, a paper hole size white circle had fallen from it, similar to the red to salmon colored paper hole size hole previous gen use. Hi, Found another keyboard that was for sale on the internet.

This time however, I couldn't recognize the switch type. It looks like a fujitsu peerless or leafspring switch, however I'm not sure. Maybe some sort of clone?

You can see the locklight cutout which is normal for peerless, but the slider is a bit different.
I would be glad if someone could help me.

EDIT: I have now discovered that this keyboard is a rebrand of the FKB4700. This means that the keyboard most likely has fujitsu peerless. Although, I am still curious about why the slider looks like it does. Any ideas?

Fujitsu used several slider designs and weren't entirely consistent with them. It's definitely Peerless.

I've been unable to find a similar switch while browsing around the deskthority wiki so I thought I'd post the pics here, mostly about the switch but if anyone has other info I'll update the wiki or you can if you'd like.

Those are Honeywell ST switches.

Wiki says it's membrane, so there are no switches as such.

Ahh, didn't know that was a thing that long ago. My only exposure to a membrane was cleaning my Fujitsu Peerless switch keyboard which had a membrane. So I guess these stems are so long they just activate the membrane directly?

Reverse of Cherry MX, and smaller. Kind of looks like a swastika.

Strong tactile bump right at the top. Shallow key travel.

Howdy. First time, long time. I've really only browsed the Wiki before and drooled over some of the pics in the forum. I already feel welcome: the banner pic was of an IBM Model M 122 key, which I have, and the answer to the account creation question was "Alps," which is what I'm asking about.

So, the keyboard is an NTC clone of their KB-6251EA model labeled "Zeos." AT, 5-pin DIN connector. The key stems are a light grey color, not an off white (see IMG_0924.jpg). They also have raised letters and numbers on top of the switch "casing." They're random numbers and letters and are on either the "number keys" side of the casing or on the "space bar" (north and south?) side, but never on the left or right sides. EXTREMELY clicky and heavy. Nice steel plate mount.

BTW, about half of the keycap stems were broken off inside the switch. That's why the inside of one of the switches in pic IMG_0923.jpg looks odd.

I know these are probably not Alps-made keys, but I'd still like to know where they came from.
