Cool. But where's the user's shadow? Did they only ever use it under the cover of darkness? Were they a cursed creature of the night?

Yet the ABS spacebar remains white?
I’m happy with the quarter extra I paid for my NIB black Pro 2 a few months ago. Definitely didn’t stay stock, mind. If you’re well behaved, you got a much better bargain when doing the honest thing and including what I spent on all my upgrades.

Yeh I was surprised the spacebar didn't yellow since it's ABS as well, and the listing didn't mention anything about an aftermarket spacebar.Muirium wrote: ↑22 Apr 2022, 09:37Yet the ABS spacebar remains white?

I think the only 'upgrade' I'd ever do to this thing would be to lube it, every other HHKB I have is both silenced & lubed, and the silencing rings cost a small fortune, plus I kinda miss the stock Topre sound...

Looking fine! How did you fix the Model F AT inflicted numpad damage? (Actually I’ll go ask on your other post to be consistent. )

So, that Nissho keyboard is actually a project of mine after seeing how similar the 108UW HiPro and the Nissho's keycaps are.
A friend of mine had a spare Nissho case, and I wanted to give the project a shot.
I wanted to essentially swap the 108UW into the Nissho case, but it wasn't very trivial to do so. The plate needed to be modified quite a bit to fit.
That eventually evolved to me wanting to keep the board PS/2 and use the original cable, so I had to source a 108P-S, which is a modern PS/2 Realforce Topre released a few years ago.
So, it's 108UW caps, housings, and plate, modified to fit into the Nissho case and mounting system. The 108P-S PCB, and I had to reposition the LEDs to line up with the windows in the Nissho which are offset a bit in comparison to RF boards.
I krytox lubed the housings and dry-lubed the sliders. No silencing on this one. Then I put 30g domes in it.
It's a really enjoyable board to use, and one of my favorites.
Spoiler:
And the best case I could find to store it safely, haha.
Thanks for showing interest!

Very beautiful! The Just board looks so good with its Numpad by its side
And that Nissho
Vintage Topre boards are something else... Gotta get my hands on one of those

Thank you! The JustSystems projects were one of my first with Topre and even back in 2017, cost me a ton, and I tried to get everything as economically as possible. Buying a second 108UW in 2021 for this Nissho build was crazy, but hey at least I got 30th anniversary cups, right?
Topre is so involving because for a cohesive singular build, you often need to buy multiple different boards for parts. It's a real money sink, especially now.
Good luck with your builds or searches for any cool Topre stuff!
Vintage Topre is a very cool niche within Topre. My favorite is the NCR a friend bought and so generously sold to me at cost, knowing I'd love it.
It was a lot of work to restore, as it came from Egypt and with all the sand in the thing, I could believe it. Still, just so cool. The case is polycarbonate too, which is an unusual material for keyboard cases outside of modern customs.

The "Round 5" Just Realforce really, really called to me back in the day. But scoring one over here would have cost me £300 and I just could not stretch it. Magnificent keyboard, especially with the matching numpad, but I'd keep them in plastic wrap too, doing me no good!

My theory is that the user didn't have it near a window, but was a heavy smoker. when I opened it up it didn't smell awful, but there was the telltale sign of stale cigarette smoke smell in the internals.

Round 5? Does it mean that they had many rounds of this set released?Muirium wrote: ↑26 Apr 2022, 11:09The "Round 5" Just Realforce really, really called to me back in the day. That Unsaver has Mad Scientist written all over it. It's movie prop level funky! (Just needs some ominously decrementing Nixie tubes.) Well done.

Needs a cluster of locks on the top left, like the Nixdorf Softkeys. Maybe add some lever switches and some blinking lights and fertig is the IBM nuclear launch protocol confirmation keyboard

Not the caps I intended for this board but it doesn't look bad. Lubed Glorious Pandas in there, carbon fibre plate, hot swap version. Gotta say, stabilisers on the NCR80 are attrocious, even lubed.
